none have taken responsibility. the councilwoman says it is their understanding the complaint remains open with no recorded resolution. this suggests the city involvement may have been off the books. wbal-tv 11 news. >> a suspicious death is being investigated tonight in north baltimore. just before 8:30 this morning, police responded to the 3600 block of old york road to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. and parents of a baltimore county teenager are furious after they say their special needs daughter was sexually assaulted during school hours. >> police that in baltimore county did began an investigation into that alleged assault, but then they decided to stop. that, of course, upset the parents. >> it is absolutely wrong. >> that is the reaction of a 15- year-old -- of the father of a

15-year-old special needs students who they say was assaulted by an older male student. >> it is a safety issue. >> the investigation ended without charges being filed. >> they do not want to handle it. in their words, there's nothing they can do. there is no credible act, they said. and that is it. according to the parents, the alleged act happened shortly after their daughter got off the bus. in portable bathrooms, that is where the girl alleges sex acts occurred. the parents say that it should be considered an assault not only because of her age, but because of her learning disabilities. they say that her daughter consented, but only because she was afraid of what would happen if she did not.

the girl was examined at a local hospital and police began investigating. they say the new fees department thoroughly investigate all assaults. -- police department thoroughly investigate all assaults. maryland law is specific about criteria that must be met in order for charges to be filed in an assault case. also when juveniles engage in sexual activity, a certain age difference must be present for an act to be a crime. that difference is not present in this case. wednesday, the parents met with the school principal who says she will look into the matter and take appropriate action. the parents tell us they will keep their daughter out of school temporarily until this is all resolve. wbal-tv 11 news. >> a new poll gives the odds of expanded gambling in maryland as much chance as a flip of a coin.

it appears after a national outcry the nfl and regular referees are close to a deal that could but the regular referee's back on the field as soon as this coming weekend. talks continue today. reports indicate the two sides are close to a deal and that would have the regular referee is back on the field sunday. that will not help the ravens tomorrow. it will not help the new england patriots coach who was fined for "and acceptable physical contact with the referee" following sunday night's game against the ravens. the ravens take on the browns' tomorrow night. the ravens are very intense on keeping -- very intent on keeping the grounds without a win this season. the ravens remember when they had a rookie quarterback, but they did with the ball.
